Let's take a look at the 6C33C.
An awesome tube, used in some seriously high-end HiFi valve amps - B.A.T, Almarro & some not so HiFi soviet jets - MIG 25.
Due to the high performance, these bottles run hot: 6.4A of heater current and up 600mA of Plate current! Yikes!
Sometimes, depending on the batch of tubes, the tension on the septar socket springs and the heat generated in the amplifier, there can be malfunctions of sorts. A blown cathode resistor, for example. Now best practice would indicate to fix the blown cathode resistor and test the valve, the testing of the valve usually being the hard part. Until now. We have the adaptor to test the 6C33C tube here in Melbourne.
Contact us for an appointment to drop off your valves, or, purchase the testing service online, add the postage of your choice, send us the bottles and we will return them once they are tested. We can generally test these in a 48 hour period, after receipt of the valves.
